Es tracta d\u2019un treball manual que requereix molta m\u00e0 d\u2019obra i que es divideix b\u00e0sicament en dos feines principals anomenades de diverses formes en diversos municipis terraltins: esbrotar i esperonar(sobretot a Gandesa i Corbera<em>)<\/em>, esbordar i desullar (sobretot a Bot), virbar i esperonar o descavallar\/escaballar (sobretot a Vilalba i Batea). Independentment de com s\u2019anomenin en cada lloc, les podes en verd consisteixen en l\u2019extracci\u00f3 de parts vegetatives amb els seg\u00fcents dos objectius principals:<\/p><p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Prevenci\u00f3 de malalties amb l\u2019augment de la ventilaci\u00f3 i millor aplicaci\u00f3 dels tractaments fitosanitaris<\/p><p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Equilibrar la relaci\u00f3 entre vegetaci\u00f3 i ra\u00efms per tal de millorar la qualitat del ra\u00efm<\/p><p>En primer lloc, es realitza el treball d\u2019esbrotar, esbordar o virbar i un cop els brots s\u2019han desenvolupat es procedeix a la feina d\u2019esperonar, desullar o descavallar.<\/p><p><strong><em>Esbrotar, esbordar, virbar:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>eliminaci\u00f3 dels brots que apareixen a les partes llenyoses (bra\u00e7os i tronc) fora de les brocades preparades en la poda d\u2019hivern. Per cada brocada se solen deixar dos brots principals, els dos m\u00e9s ferms i que permetran una bona distribuci\u00f3 de la vegetaci\u00f3.<\/p><p><strong><em>Esperonar, desullar, descavallar:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>extracci\u00f3 de les brotacions axil\u00b7lars, dels brots anomenades esperons, ulls o cavalls. Se solen extreure tots els esperons des de la base del brot fins deixar-ne dos o m\u00e9s a la part superior de cada brot.<\/p><p>A m\u00e9s d\u2019aquestes dos feines principals que s\u2019han de realitzar manualment, es poden completar amb altres feines que tamb\u00e9 es poden fer a m\u00e0 o de forma mecanitzada:<\/p><p><strong><em>Despuntar:<\/em><\/strong>tallar les puntes dels sarments (meristems apicals) per tal de frenar-ne el creixement vegetatiu i, d\u2019altra banda, endurir-los per protegir-los del vent.<\/p><p><strong><em>Despampar:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>extracci\u00f3 de les fulles,&nbsp;<em>pampes,<\/em>&nbsp;propers als ra\u00efms per tal d\u2019augmentar la ventilaci\u00f3.<\/p><p>En les vinyes tradicionals formades en forma lliure (vas) els treballs d\u2019esperonar i esbrotar es realitzen de forma manual i en els casos necessaris tamb\u00e9 el despuntat i despampat. &nbsp;En canvi, en les plantacions en espatllera, es realitza el treball d\u2019esbrotar de forma manual per\u00f2 en alguns casos s\u2019evita el treball de esperonar i es possible realitzar despuntats i despampats de forma mecanitzada.<\/p><p>[Imatge cedida per Celler Josep Vicens]<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arribats al mes de maig ja es comencen a realitzar les podes en verd a les vinyes de la Terra Alta.
