On 3th<\/sup> December, at the headquarters of the Consell Regulador DO Terra Alta<\/a>, the people responsible for the International Competition Grenaches du Monde<\/em> met with representatives of the Consell Regulador DO Terra Alta and Consell Comarcal to assess the possibility of organize this international event in Terra Alta region in future editions.<\/p>

In addition, they visited possible locations to do the contest and other activities. In the afternoon, several wineries registered in DO Terra Alta attended the presentation of the event. This presentation was made for the people responsible of Grenache du Monde<\/em>.<\/p>

This meeting represented a great opportunity for Terra Alta to show the interest and resources to be a good location in a future edition of this competition which began in 2013.<\/p>

Grenache du Monde<\/em><\/a>  held on 9th<\/sup> February 2015 its third edition in Perpignan city where the first and second edition was also performed. This event wants to discover and select the best Grenache wines from around the world. This contest is open to wines with more than 60% of this variety. The competition is open to all types of wines (still, fortified, sparkling, liqueur, dessert wines\u2026).<\/p>

For the quantitative and qualitative importance of Grenache in Terra Alta, especially for White Grenache; the uniqueness of the architecture of the Gandesa and Pinell de Brai modernist cellars; the rustic beauty and natural heritage; effective effort of the cellars to be present around the world; and successful experience of Wine Festival of Gandesa; Terra Alta might be a good location for this contest, if it becomes an itinerant competition.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
