The history of Green way of Terra Alta: This green way was an old railway from Aragon to the sea opened in 1942 thanks to republican prisoners of Spanish Civil War. The train travelled by this railway called “lo Sarmentero” by local people (it means bunch of vine) because there were many of vineyards along the railway. Finally the railway was closed in 1973 because one tunnel between the villages of Pinell de Brai and Prat de Comte collapsed.
